Heirloom furniture,
made by hand.

We turn slow-grown hardwood into furniture built to outlive the people who own it. Every joint cut to fit, every surface finished by hand, every dimension sized around how you actually live.

Selected work

Pieces with a past and a future

A few recent commissions. Each one starts as a drawing and ends on a truck to your house.

How it's made

From rough timber to finished heirloom

No flat-pack, no shortcuts. This is how every commission moves through our shop.

  1. Stacks of freshly cut hardwood beside a CNC machine in the Timber workshop 01

    Hand-selected timber

We buy whole boards from regional mills and sort each one by grain, color, and figure before anything else happens. The boards that don't make it go back.

  2. A craftsman shaping an intricately patterned tabletop at the workbench 02

    Shaped and joined by hand

Every joint is cut to fit: mortise and tenon, dovetail, breadboard ends. We dry-fit twice and make adjustments before the glue ever touches wood. Pieces built this way don't come apart.

  3. A finished oak dining set installed in a bright, calm room 03

    Finished and delivered

Hand-sanded to 220, then rubbed with a low-sheen natural oil that only gets better with use. We make the delivery ourselves and don't leave until the piece is level.

The wood

Species we love to work

Each one ages differently. The swatches show the color and character of the wood we stock.

  • Walnut Rich, chocolate depth
  • White Oak Tough, open grain
  • Maple Pale & hard-wearing
  • Cherry Warms with age
  • Ash Springy, bold figure
  • Cedar Fragrant & light

Our story

Still small on purpose, fifteen years in

Timber started in a one-car garage with a borrowed table saw and a conviction that furniture ought to be repaired, not replaced. Fifteen years on, we're still small on purpose. Every piece passes through the same pair of hands from board to box.

We work slowly, quote honestly, and would rather build one good thing a month than ten forgettable ones. If you want furniture worth repairing in twenty years, we'd love to hear about your project.

Kind words

What our clients say

  • "Our walnut dining table is the first thing everyone comments on. You can feel that it was made by someone who cared. It'll be in the family long after I'm gone."

    Maren H. — Portland, OR

  • "They built us a wall of cabinetry around an awkward chimney that three other shops said couldn't be done. Communication was honest the whole way, and the fit is flawless."

Devon & Ari — Seattle, WA

  • "I sent a blurry photo of my grandmother's old desk and asked if they could make something like it. What came back was better than I imagined. It arrived early, too."

    Priya N. — Austin, TX
